There seems to be a general consensus that the Wikileaks fiasco is going to light a fire under public demand for more transparency and access to information from Government bodies. This begs the question of how this demand will be met in organisations that have little to no executive management support for the value and function of ECM.

I got to thinking about this as a result of considering the whole issue of Freedom of Information and the role Julian Assange and Wikileaks plays in the debate about the global availability of information.

Once again the AIIMS State of Enterprise Content Management Report 2010 gives some specific insight around the overall level of executive engagement on ECM and Joe Shepley’s critique of the findings goes even further. (more…)
